I could write a whole article on why you should be playing more games like Gradius. In fact, maybe I will this Friday. Now, you have no excuse. If you own a PSP and you like shooting things, then it's time to take a step back into the kind of game that defines what makes gaming great. And you can do just that at a budget price of $19.99, direct download on PSN (can this be any easier!?!).
Gradius Portable is a collection of Gradius 1 - 4 and Gradius Gaiden. Minus Gradius 3, these are some of the finest shooters ever made. To address them one by one, Gradius is a great play for nostalgia reasons. It doesn't hold up though. Gradius 2 remains one of the best Gradius games ever. Fu*k Gradius 3. Gradius 4 is a fantastic blend of graphics and winning shooting mechanics, and Gradius Gaiden is a shooter everyone should play and is worth the price of admission alone.
Be you a hardcore gamer or just someone looking for a bit of nostalgia, Gradius Portable is the perfect addition to your PSP collection. Plus, if we all buy it like crazy, there's a good chance the underground movement will spark new interest in releasing Pariodius Portable, the parody of Gradius.
